Walking equipmentYou don’t need special equipment for the walks in the direct surroundings of Do-it-Outdoor. You are, however, advised to wear a pair of stout walking shoes and to carry a water bottle and sunglasses in your rucksacks. It is also sensible to have a mobile telephone and a small First Aid kit. Remember that during the day walks in the Monti Sibillini or adjoining parks you will climb to heights of 1000 to 2500 metres. The terrain is rough and the ground often consists of loose stones or grit. Mountain boots of type A/B are therefore necessary. The weather can change very quickly in the mountains. Good rain clothing and a warm pullover are standard additions in your rucksack. A pair of gloves and a head covering are not luxuries in the spring and autumn. Snow catchers can be necessary in the early spring. We advise a day rucksack with a volume of 25 litres. And don’t forget the sunglasses with UV protection 3/4. We also advise telescopic sticks. Your arms support walking in power and balance, certainly if you are walking with a heavier rucksack. We have several sticks available and you can quickly learn how to walk with them. A mobile telephone and a First Aid kit are the basis for every individual or group going into the mountains. We have this equipment in our rucksack during the guided tours. Maps, compasses and GPS (GARMIN EtrexH) are available for the orientation walks. If you have your own equipment, feel free to bring it along! There is a special packing list for the winter walks. |

Cycle equipmentWe assume that you will bring your own bike. Remember that a bike with at least 12 gears is needed in this area. All you need in the hills is a pair of cycling shorts, a shirt and a windcheater. Take suitable clothing if you want to visit one of the nice little churches along the way. We advise taking at least 1 litre of water in a water bottle, cycle bag or day rucksack. We advise a mobile telephone, cycle glasses, a small tool kit and a First Aid kit for every trip. The roads and paths for cycling can be of poor quality. It’s easy to fall, so ... wear a helmet and gloves! The equipment will be adapted for the longer and higher trips in the national park. Remember: longer cycle trousers, windcheater and enough food and drink for the road. |

Equipment mountain climbingAll mountain climbing equipment will be provided (unless you have your own suitable equipment). We will provide you with a good climbing harness, helmet, securing equipment and carabineers. We use special mountaineering ropes. You climb best with climbing or friction boots. Well-fitting gym or mountain shoes if you don’t have these. Clothing must fit well and be able to take rough treatment. A 3/4 length pair of trousers protects the knees and is nice and airy when it’s warm. A day rucksack is recommended for an extra shirt, lunch pack and drinks. |
